Pastor’s Corner
We thank God for another busy week at Calvary. Thank you all for your support of Sis. Flora Grimm, who gave a wonderful fourth address as District Usher’s President. Thank you for supporting our Calvary School of Ministry and Leadership Graduation and the Book Release Party for my parents. Thank you for supporting the Teacher’s Workshop and preparations for the Annie Malone Parade Outreach today.
We also welcome our youth speakers today. Pray for them as they share the “Word of Life” today. We have early church today so many of us can participate in the Annie Malone Parade Outreach. Pray for us.
We will conclude our “Road to Financial Freedom” Preaching and Teaching series of the Fifth Sunday of May. Be prepared for our celebration. Bring your vision board or book.
Please support the Women of the church in the Mother, Daughter, Friend Brunch on May 23.
Also, on the Fifth Sunday, at 4pm we will celebrate Choir Day, will special musical guests. Please come prepared to support our Music Department.

Remember, we have begun Wednesday Prayer and Bible Study from Noon until 1pm. Please attend if you are able.


Pastor Goatley will be in Noon Day Revival at West Side Missionary Baptist Church, 4675 Page Boulevard, Monday through Wednesday of this week. Sis. Sharon Quigless will be the guest Psalmist. Please attend if you can.
Our schedule: Sunday School/NBC is 9-10:00am. Worship starts at 10:30am.
We have begun Teachers Meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. The next meeting will be May 20. All age group teachers, secretaries and workers are asked to participate.

Adult Thursday Night Bible Study @ 6pm-7pm.

We Are In Need of Canned Goods
Please bring canned goods this week for the Food Pantry. Your help is appreciated.
Youth Abstinence Training will begin May 7. Parents please stay after worship today for information.

Remember Thursday Night Together (TNT) our Adult, Youth and Children’s Ministries all on one convenient night for the family. Let’s Spend Thursday Night Together.

Please note: Bible Study is never cancelled because choir rehearsal is cancelled. The pulpit will announce when Bible Study is cancelled.

Foundations/Membership Class
Calvary has a class for people new to the church. This eight week class is taught by Rev. Ora Lewis and Deacon in Training James Johnson. All new adult members are required to take this class.

Remember to support our Church Fitness Challenge, please see Sis. Ernestine Johnson. And also support the Healthy Body class.

Our Church Anniversary will be June 28, Please plan to support our church anniversary will your participation.

We are looking for volunteers to help us host the Encourager’s Fellowship Church on July 4th Weekend. Please see Sis. Pam Martin or Sis. Janet Brown to sign up.

Reverend Carlton Pearson Named Interim Minister at Christ Universal Temple in Chicago
